Occupational Therapy Services For Employers

As an employer, occupational therapy can bring both you and your workforce a whole range of benefits. Helping your staff to perform their jobs more easily can boost productivity, employee morale and even reduce the number of sick days in your organisation.

What Can An Occupational Therapist Do For Me?

An occupational therapist (OT) can help people who are finding it difficult to carry out activities in their daily lives. This could be for a number of reasons, including illness, post-operative recovery, disability or mobility problems. An occupational therapist will assess an individual’s needs, giving them the right help for their situation. They may suggest solutions such as mobility aids or adaptations to the working or living environment. OTs can also design and create supports for joints and soft tissue for people recovering from an operation or going through rehabilitation.

An Occupational Therapy Service For Home, Work & More

Our occupational therapy service is accessed by a range of different people in a range of different settings. Our OTs work for individuals, businesses and the public sector. We can help with:

  • Vocational occupational therapy
  • Housing issues
  • Local authority work
  • Commercial work
  • Hand therapy
  • Insurance work
  • Patients with neurological problems
  • Case management
  • Medico legal work
  • Charity work
  • Patients with mental health problems
  • Patients with dementia

How Does Occupational Therapy Work?

Firstly, your OT will carry out an occupational therapy assessment. They will try to find out more about the tasks or activities an individual is struggling with – like moving around the home, eating or carrying out tasks at work. They will look at what they can or cannot do both mentally or physically. Next, they will design solutions to help with these activities, promoting independence and improving confidence. This could include developing and running home or work functional rehabilitation programmes, or simply providing equipment to help with mobility.
